P-Rod. Paul Rodriguez. A name so synonymous with skateboarding that you’d have to have been living under a rock to of not heard it. A signature shoe is a sign of prestige in this industry, very few ever get their name stitched into the fabric of skateboarding with their very own pro model, but Paul has 10. Yes, you read that right. TEN.
From turning pro for Girl in 2002 to his first pro Nike SB model in 2005 to the creation of Primitive Skateboards in 2008, P-Rod’s career is as storied as it is inspiring. The “What the Paul” Dunk Low Pro SB is a celebration of Paul’s deep relationship with Nike SB over the years, pulling elements from each of his pro models, culminating in a mash-up of meteoric levels.
Originally released in May ’21, we’re finally ready to part ways with one of the shoes of the decade (so far). Remixing the 2007 “What the Dunk” flavours with iconic elements from P-Rod’s signature line, the shoe is dripping with an eclectic mismatch of details. Ornate embroidery blends with bespoke Deubrés, colourful gradients entwine with animal prints, and traditional Mexican textiles mix with skate shoe essentials for a dazzling homage to one of skateboarding’s greats.
