Reflecting the creative vein that flows through their on-board representatives, There Skateboards reveal their unique take on the iconic Nike SB silhouette. Welcome, the Dunk Low Pro “There Skateboards”.
Clad in black and grey suede, the There Dunk adopts a two-tone upper, blending napped panels with distressed overlays to create a structural juxtaposition symbolic of There’s eclectic aura, from which Jeff Cheung’s unmistakeable artwork can spring.
Cheung’s anatomical art style embraces the human body in a playful manner, visually deconstructing prejudices based on race, gender, and sexuality and presenting the unifying qualities within us all. It is the foundation of There’s aesthetic and embodies the collective spirit of the team and the broad-mindedness of the brand.
Adding texture to the upper, Cheung’s designs leap from the tousled grey overlays in contrasting white stitch. Although haphazardly assorted along the shoe’s sidewalls, the long and sleek lines add a clean balance and, when taken as a whole, the rudimentary style makes for suitable streetwear.
Breaking the monochromatic suede exterior, a leafy green leather Swoosh plunges across the sidewalls, joined by glimpses of further green extruding up from the outsole and peeking over the collar. The base of the shoe is not immune to Cheung’s charms, with additional artwork along the forefoot.
Following the green theme, squared rope laces patterned with black flecks crisscross the top of the sneaker, whilst heavyweight custom dubraes adorn the lace’s base. Larger than average, they finalise the shoe’s distinctive look with a punchy and unconventional touch.
