All Hallows’ Eve. a scintillating, single-evening celebration of the strangest curiosities ever conjured in the deepest recesses of human imagination.
On every suburban street a looming lunar presence sneers down from obsidian shawl, the creeping occult slides its spindly tendrils into every corner of every shoe company, possessing every sentient creature; sweet-toothed school-kids are cast costumed into darkness and titillated teenagers go groggily amongst the fog, their freakish frames following the rows of twisted pumpkin smiles lining the route, oblivious to the foreboding “swoosh” of wind cutting across withered autumn leaves… an omen of footwear most foul for, lurking in the shadows, lies the latest in a sinister string of sneakers… the Nike SB Dunk High Candy Corn.
Although inspired by a sweet treat, the true nature of this striking silhouette is something a little more sour; a Frankenstein’s monster of fluorescent colour, the Candy Corn Dunk is brought to life with soft slices of fleshy leather, double stitched together for supernatural durability and electrified with tasty harvest tones of orange, yellow and white. A swift Swoosh slices scythe-like across the gradient side panelling, debossed teeth marks sink ravenously into the toe box, and cautionary custom graphics reside on the underside of the collar flaps and behind the tongue tab. Nestled deep in the guts of the shoe are custom Candy Corn insoles for a sweet pop of cushioning and, finally, fetter your forefoot with a trifecta of terrifyingly lucid lace options.
