Nike SB are back at it, this time joining forces with San Diego dwellers Arts-Rec Skateshop for a wild capsule. Led by pro skater Kellen James, Arts-Rec has become a cultural cornerstone in the City in Motion, blending street-level authenticity with San Diego’s creative heartbeat. This latest link-up is no exception. It’s a celebration of skateboarding’s duality, where chaos meets curation.

Taking inspiration from Balboa Park’s 99-acre zoo, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro x Arts-Rec comes dressed in safari vibes, with soft hues and feral details that reflect both the urban wildlife and community spirit of America’s Finest City. It lands alongside an SB Air Trainer 1, which follows the same safari themes, combining rough suede, leopard print patterns and black fur.
Straight from the enclosure, the Dunk leads the pack with debossed animal-print panelling, sitting over a Rust Pink suede toe box and Rough Green tumbled leather sidewall and heel tab, finished with crisp white Arts-Rec branding. A bold amber Swoosh wraps the upper, whilst the black mesh tongue features pink SB embroidery and hidden warnings underneath: “Please Do Not Tap On Glass” and “Please Do Not Feed the Animals.” It’s all grounded by a sail midsole and semitranslucent outsole, revealing subtle Arts-Rec callouts beneath the rubber.
This is a capsule that pays homage to the convergence of cultures; a nod to San Diego’s rich creative undercurrent and the skateshop that lives at its core.
