Product Description
Engorged with gleam and grandeur, Nike SB unveil their finest collaboration of the year: the April Skateboards Dunk Low.

Ironically launched only a month late of their namesake in 2019, April Skateboards is the manifestation of months of mystery, prolonged board sponsor speculation, and the resulting progeny of the most meticulous man on seven plies, Shane O’Neill. Known for his temperate disposition and intemperately technical tricks, April is the astral projection of Shane’s character; April’s aesthetic rides on wild ‘80s retrowave nostalgia, balanced with a composed, modern touch.

A pop-futurist product of the late-2010s’ vaporwave surge, embodied by lucid gradients and dreamy artwork, April’s almost-celestial skateboarding vision is upheld by the genuine stars on their team: Olympic gold medallist Yuto Horigome, child prodigy Rayssa Leal, and stair-hucking new blood Dashawn Jordan. With seven-tenths of April’s roster riding for the Swoosh and Shane’s own 20-year involvement with the footwear dynasty, an astronomical eclipse of the two was written in the stars.

Despite the turbulent connotations of the shoe’s colour combinations (“Racer Blue” and “Turbo Green”), the April Dunk Low stands composed with an ethereal elegance emphasised by its intricate composition; lavish suede overlays lap freshly whitened leather panelling and encase ergonomic mesh sidewalls, metallic mirror Swooshes add a futuristic touch of playful pageantry, and familiarly hypnagogic April artwork leaks through an adamantine outsole. Especially easy on the eye, the simplistic pastel palette of the April Dunk ensures it offers effortless styling with a touch of finesse.

Gazing closer, the finer flourishes of the April Dunk assert its august aura, with its silvery theme restated with rubber-stamped heel embellishments and lace-ending aglets with the same chrome finish. Luxe “April” embossing takes stately place pressed along the lateral heel, and further lustrous branding sits upon the tongue tag. Quilted lining works its way within the shoe, delivering a plump comfort finalised in the footbed with a custom-printed insole displaying further dreamlike April artistry.
